ELIGIBILITY
To join the Gild applicants must already have been granted Freedom to the City of York. All Freemen of the City are eligible to apply for membership, if you have not yet taken up your freedom then check out our page on how to apply for Freedom.
The Gild exists to bring together Freemen of York for the purpose of protecting and developing the traditional rights of Freemen, charity, benevolence and social events.
FEES
Annual Membership £25.00
Senior Citizens (60 years old+) £15.00

Please note there is also a joining fee of £15.00, only payable in your first year. This covers the administration costs and you will receive a welcome pack, which will include several items including a lapel badge or brooch, Rule Book, current Newsletter and current Yearbook.
The first Annual Membership covers the financial year in which your application is submitted. Thereafter, membership should be paid on the 1st of April. Personal reminders are not issued but you will be notified within newsletters and on social media. To ensure your continued membership we recommend setting up a standing order with your bank.
