Strays Council
As part of the Gild, the Strays Council exists to work in conjunction with the City of York Council to manage the many strays around the outskirts of the city. The Gild requires a number of Pasture Masters for these important areas of pasture. We are at present trying to recruit new Pasture Masters for the following Monk, Bootham and Walmgate strays. You must be a Freemen of the City and live in the Ward in which the stray is situated. If you fancy taking part in this small but important Council, please contact the Clerk to the Gild. We meet twice a year, and once a year you will be expected to walk your stray. We look forward to hearing from you.

What to do next?
Meet fellow Freemen at our next social event. Have a look at what’s on next.
